This blog is a marriage of the two.
Whether it’s a happy marriage between two mature adults or a crazy marriage between first cousins is up to you to decide.
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but I actually think that words can make a photo even better!
Do you ever see a photo and wonder about the story behind it? I know that I do…ALL THE TIME.
In this blog, I’m sharing the stories behind my photos. These may be true stories about my photo’ subject, they may be stories about how or why I took the photo, and sometimes, they may be completely fictional fabrications about the photo (these are my favorite!). But for each of my stories, my goal is the same: to entertain you and add a bit of value to your life.
And here’s something really fun! You’ll notice throughout my blog that my husband’s role tends to be as my driver or my protector (when I insist on investigating questionable places). BUT, he has another role as well! He’s the creative force behind KRIEG THE WONDER DOG! You may be asking yourself, “Who is Krieg the Wonder Dog?” Keep your eye out for stories that have “alternate endings,” and you’ll find out! I’d explain more, but I don’t want to ruin the surprise!
So, What About Me?
You’re probably thinking, yeah, all this blog stuff is great, but who the heck are YOU, Dawn Heath???
I’ve always considered myself just a normal girl (now, more of a middle aged woman…YIKES!), but I guess when I stop to think about it, my life has been a bit unusual. It started normally enough when I married right out of college and had two children. But, then, BAM!
When I was only in my 30s, my boobs tried to kill me (damn cancer!), and my husband left me for another man. Seriously! He did that! Suddenly, I found myself back in the dating world after two kids and 16 years of hibernation. Yeah, that was a sight to see…
Then, I was lucky enough to meet and quickly (3 months later!) marry the man of my dreams, just to have him deploy immediately to Iraq. When he finally came home in 2010, he introduced me to photography, and my passion was born (better than a child at age 41!).
Since then, my life has returned to a semblance of normal. I work a full-time job, but I fill my free time with as many fun activities as possible…mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, photography, and writing. Oh, and hanging out with Charlie and Krieg the Wonder Dog!
Thank you for reading my blog! I hope you enjoy both my photos and my stories behind them. If you do, please share them with your friends!
